How to Apply Rust-Oleum 17 Years Elastomeric Roof Coating Paint

Surface Preparation

All surfaces must be clean and free from dirt, grease, oil, mold, algae, loose granules, loose paint, rust, excess chalk and other foreign matter which could prevent proper adhesion. Use a high pressure wash of at least 2,000 psi. Clean with Rust-Oleum Roof & Siding Cleaner to remove all grease or oily deposits. Seams should be sealed and waterproofed and roof penetrations should be flashed prior to applying the topcoat.

Application

Apply only when air, material, and surface temperatures are between 50-100ºF (10-38ºC) and the relative humidity is below 85%. Mix with a power assisted mechanical mixer before use. Mix until the coating is smooth and consistent. Rust-Oleum Extreme Elastomeric Roof Coating can be spray, roll or brush applied. A ⅜” nap roller is recommended if rolling. Airless spray is recommended for optimum results. Good results are generally obtained @ 2,000-3,000 psi at the spray tip.
