How to Apply FlexiDip Rubber Coating Spray?
Ideal Environmental Conditions to Spray
Use outdoors or in a well ventilated area such as an open garage. Use when temperature is between 50-90°F (10- 32°C) and humidity is below 65% to ensure proper drying. Do not apply to galvanized metal. Avoid spraying in very windy and dusty conditions. Cover surrounding area to protect from spray mist.
Wash the surface with a commercial detergent, or other suitable cleaning method. Rinse with fresh water and dry with a clean cloth. Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper. Lightly sand glossy surfaces.
Shake can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle DO NOT STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum. Mask off the area to be coated. Shake often during use. Hold can 8-12" from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface and in motion while spraying. Apply 4 or more light coats to build desired coating thickness, followed by 1 medium coat to achieve a smooth final film. Allow the coating to dry to a matte finish (about 5 minutes) between coats. More coats will result in a thicker coating which is easier to remove when desired. Allow the coating to cure for 24 hours before washing. Remove tape while the last coat is still wet. Do not use near open flame.
