How to Apply Caliper Paint?
Ideal Conditions To Use
Use outdoors or in a well ventilated area such as an open garage. Apply when temperature is between 50-90ºF (10-32ºC) and humidity is below 85% to ensure proper drying.
All surfaces must be cleaned to ensure that the Caliper Paint will properly adhere to the caliper or brake drum. Thoroughly clean the surface with Rust-Oleum Caliper Cleaner (251597) following the directions on the package. Note: Follow all safety instructions. For best results, remove the wheel(s) from the vehicle and unbolt the caliper to remove the brake pads before beginning. Do not remove the calipers or brake lines. Use the enclosed masking tape to protect the surrounding areas of the brakes, including the brake bleeder screws, brake lines, and caliper piston bolts. It is recommended to block tires to prevent the vehicle from moving in the event the wheels are not removed from the vehicle.
Be sure to read the directions on the back of the enclosed Caliper Paint before beginning the project. Thoroughly mix the Caliper Paint (257169) with the enclosed stir stick. Apply paint to the caliper or drum in thin, even strokes using the enclosed brush. Once the entire surface is coated, additional coats can be applied after 24 hours.
